Thursdays

Dinner @ 6:30PM

Group @ 7:00PM

Our Meetings

Our meetings include a meal at 6:30 ($3 to eat) and fellowship, then worship & teaching starting at 7:00, followed by a time for people to share openly and engage in small group discussions. Some of the specific groups focus on relationship addictions, sexual integrity, chemical dependency, food struggles, as well as other life issues. Please note that men’s and women’s groups always meet separately. Each group is moderated by a mature, experienced leader with anonymity and confidentiality as our core values.

What is CR for?

Eating disorders involve extreme disturbances in eating behavior. An eating disorder can be characterized by an excessive or compulsive consumption of food and/or getting rid of food, commonly known as binging and purging. It may also be characterized by self-induced starvation and excessive and unhealthy weight loss. We may have believed the lie that our bodies define who we are, and that changing our body image to fit an imagined standard would bring fulfillment, peace, and acceptance into our chaotic lives. We may have jeopardized our relationships, health, jobs, morals, and values to ensure we meet these imagined standards. Many times, food becomes a comfort to ease our pain or fear. Other times, we trade one addiction for another, and food becomes a new addiction to replace another one we have gained sobriety over. Food becomes our "drug of choice.” If you are codependent and relying on someone else for your happiness, satisfaction, value, or self-worth.

"Because of my involvement and commitment to Celebrate Recovery at Riverstone Church I have experienced humility and realized I can’t change alone. With the help of Jesus, and regular involvement with my accountability partners at CR, I’m proud of who I’ve become. Learning how to deal with life’s curve balls instead of hiding from stuff has brought me great happiness and honor."

  • What's the difference between Celebrate Recovery and Other 12-step Programs (AA, NA, CA, or others)?
Celebrate Recovery is Christ-Centered. In other 12-step fellowships, you have the ability to choose your own higher power. In Celebrate Recovery we have the Higher Power, Jesus Christ, who chose you. We recognize that the 12 steps are a tool to help an individual build a relationship with Jesus and find freedom from many different issues, and as such, we do not limit our ministry to anyone’s specific struggle.
  • Is Celebrate Recovery for me?
Yes, Celebrate Recovery is for anyone with a hurt, habit, or hang up.
  • What does hurt, habit, or hang up mean?
Anyone who has lived in a fallen and broken world has typically been hurt by someone at some point, and sometimes we are aware of how that hurt affects us and sometimes we are not. A habit is any bad habitual behavior that affects our relationship with God or others. A hang-up is that thing that can randomly or regularly affect your relationship with God or others. Examples include, but are not limited to, past abuse, betrayal, substance abuse, gambling, pornography, anxiety, anger, co-dependency.
  • Can I join at any time?
Our large group meetings are open for anyone to join at any time. Our step studies are open to newcomers for the first two to three months depending on class size.
  • What if my struggle is not listed?
Celebrate Recovery is geared towards addressing the deeper heart condition and sin problem we all have. Our large group meetings offer struggle specific small groups based on the needs of the church and the availability of leaders. We are always open to starting a new struggle specific group if we have two leaders of the same gender to start it. We also realize that everyone struggles with co-dependency or anger to some degree and anyone is welcome to join that group.
  • Do I have to register?
There is no registration for our large group meetings or even our step studies. You can just show up. We always have a general share group (one for men, one for women) that anyone can join at any time. Once you're ready- you can join a Step group which takes you through the 12step program.
  • Is there childcare?
At this time we do not offer childcare.
  • Is there a cost?
There is no cost to attend a large group or a step study. If you attend the dinner before our large group, there is a cost of $3 for dinner for adults, 1$ for kids. The step study does require a curriculum that has four participant guides that cost $7 each. We are always willing to work out a payment plan for the curriculum. We never want financial reasons to stand in the way of someone getting help.
